Approved Colleges, LLC (“Approved Colleges,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), doing business as Perdia Education, GetEducated.com, and the Emma Mobile Enrollment App (“Emma App”), is a U.S.-based education services company that operates platforms designed to connect prospective students with educational institutions and programs. This Privacy Policy applies to all websites, mobile applications, and services operated by Approved Colleges, LLC (collectively, the “Services”) unless a separate privacy policy is explicitly provided. Approved Colleges, LLC is the legal entity responsible for the collection, use, processing, and protection of personal information across all Services.
Information We Collect. When you use the Services, we may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide, including your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, educational background, program interests, employment information, and any other information you submit through forms, applications, or communications. We may also collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, pages visited, timestamps, and interactions with the Services. Where necessary, we may collect and process limited information related to your enrollment status or educational records in accordance with applicable law.
How We Use Information. We use personal information to operate and improve the Services, respond to your inquiries, connect you with participating educational institutions, facilitate admissions and enrollment processes, provide financial aid or scholarship information, communicate with you regarding programs or services you have requested, personalize your experience, maintain system functionality, ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
Communications and Consent. If you provide your phone number or email address through the Services, including through forms that you consent to receive communications from Approved Colleges, LLC dba Perdia Education, acting on behalf of participating institutions and its partner institutions, regarding educational programs and enrollment services. These communications may be delivered via email, telephone calls, and text messages (SMS), including messages sent using automated dialing systems or prerecorded technology where permitted by law, in accordance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Message frequency may vary, and message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, and you may unsubscribe from email communications using the link provided in those messages or by contacting privacy@perdiaeducation.com. Consent to receive communications is not required as a condition of enrollment.
Information Sharing. We may share your information with participating universities, colleges, lenders, or educational partners that you have requested information from or that provide programs relevant to your interests in order to facilitate admissions, enrollment, and related services. We may also share information with service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, communications delivery, security monitoring, or technical support. These service providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for authorized purposes. We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation.
Mobile Data Privacy. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or personal information with third parties, affiliates, or partners for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances. Information may be shared with service providers solely as necessary to deliver the Services and under confidentiality and data protection obligations.
Educational Records and FERPA. To the extent that information collected through the Services constitutes education records under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), such information is accessed, used, and disclosed only in accordance with your prior written consent and applicable law. Participating educational institutions are responsible for their own compliance with FERPA with respect to records they maintain.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies. The Services may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to enhance user experience, analyze usage patterns, improve performance, and support functionality. You may control cookie preferences through your browser settings; however, disabling cookies may limit certain features of the Services.
Data Security and SOC 2–Aligned Practices. We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our security practices are designed to align with industry standards, including principles commonly associated with SOC 2 frameworks, such as access controls, data minimization, monitoring, and incident response. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Data Retention. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain appropriate business records.
International Users and GDPR Rights. If you are located in the European Economic Area or other regions with applicable data protection laws, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, update, or delete your information, the right to restrict or object to certain processing, and the right to request data portability where applicable. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Requests may be submitted to privacy@perdiaeducation.com, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
User Rights and Choices. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting privacy@perdiaeducation.com. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time as described above. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
Notice to California Residents. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to request correction of inaccurate information, and the right to request access to specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. Categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers such as name, email address, phone number, and mailing address; educational and professional information; internet or network activity such as usage data; and other information you voluntarily provide through the Services. We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation and do not share mobile phone numbers or personal information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights. Notice to Nevada Residents. Nevada law allows Nevada residents to opt out of the sale of certain types of personal information. Although Approved Colleges, LLC does not sell personal information for monetary compensation, Nevada residents may submit a request to opt out of any future sale of personal information by contacting us at privacy@perdiaeducation.com. We will process such requests in accordance with applicable Nevada law.
Additional State Privacy Rights. Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights regarding their personal information under applicable laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain data processing activities. Requests may be submitted to privacy@perdiaeducation.com, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Children’s Privacy. The Services are intended for individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to This Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. Updated versions will be posted on our website, and continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
